Crane specialists to stand tall at ITTES 2016

Along with the trucks and trailers that are the forefront of the International, Truck Trailer & Equipment Show, the 2016 event will also showcase some of the biggest names in crane technology.

Confirmed to represent the crane market so far are Maxilift/Effer, 600 Cranes and Hiab. While all four brands have remained tight-lipped on product displays and new launches, each has promised a ‘strong showing’ in Melbourne, showing their range of equipment for applications across the civil works and waste transport sectors.

ITTES Director, Simon Coburn, was pleased to see some of the major crane equipment names well represented. “It’s great to see the crane equipment companies supporting the Show and with the inclusion of a dedicated Roads & Civil Works Expo and the Waste Management in Action arena, we are excited about the event as a whole and expect a significant turnout from trade visitors, as well as the Australian public,” he commented.

“With the opportunity to also showcase moving demonstrations, having a strong lifting equipment presence will add a lot of value for visitors and exhibitors alike.”

In an ITTES first, the 2016 edition will also play host to the qualification rounds of the second annual Hiab World Crane Championship.

Taking place on Saturday, 7 May, at the Melbourne Show’s Live Test Track, the Hiab qualification rounds will see contestants manoeuvring Hiab-equipped vehicles through a series of obstacles in a bid to set the best track times.

According to Hiab Australia, the winner of the qualification rounds will not only represent Australia at the 2016 World Crane Championship final, to be held at the September’s IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hannover, Germany, but go in the running to win the grand prize of €25,000 (AU$35,000).
